They lent on paper, in one town. Now they lend across cities.

Mitra Finance ran on paper and could only lend to people nearby. They needed borrowers to apply, upload KYC and repay from a phone, and their team to review it all in one place. We set up and extended a Laravel lending platform, built the Android and iOS apps on its API, and published them on both stores.

The problem

What was broken

  • Everything ran on paper: applications, KYC documents, repayments.
  • With no system behind them, they could only lend to people close enough to visit.
  • Whoever approves a loan should see the credit score next to the KYC, not go looking for it.
The work

How we fixed it

  • Set up a Laravel 11 lending platform and extended it: the customer site, the admin panel and the loan engine underneath.
  • Built the Android and iOS apps. They talk to a REST API secured with Sanctum tokens.
  • Published both apps on Google Play and the App Store.
  • In the apps, borrowers sign in with their phone number and an SMS code. No password to forget.
  • Borrowers upload their own KYC documents. Admins approve or reject them from the dashboard.
  • Added a credit report check to the admin KYC screen, so the score is right there when someone decides.
  • Each loan plan gets its own application form. Scheduled jobs keep instalments up to date, and repayments go through Razorpay or Paytm.

Metrics source: Before and after are the client's own account. We set up and extended the platform core and built the mobile apps. We have not published loan volumes, and the credit report check is built and ready to connect.
