What is AI search optimization?
AI search optimization is the work of making a brand eligible to appear inside AI-generated answers from tools like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Google AI Mode. It combines answer engine optimization (AEO) and generative engine optimization (GEO): structuring content so a model can quote it, building clear entity and schema signals, and earning citations on sources these models trust.
Is AEO the same as SEO?
No. SEO aims to rank a page in a list of links. AEO aims to get a brand or fact included in a single AI-generated answer. They overlap, because clear, authoritative, well-structured content helps with both, but the target is different: a ranking position versus a mention inside an answer.
Can you guarantee my brand shows up in ChatGPT?
